The missions of CWS are: To eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world. CWS remains firmly on the side of the hungry and homeless, assisting people with the training and education they need to fashion a brighter future. In East Timor, CWS is empowering women, men and children so they can achieve a measure security, independence and human dignity.

Church World Service accomplishes all by working at grassroots level, through scores of partner organizations that can solve local problem best. CWS strives to help those who need the aid the most regardless of the race, creed, nationality, religious or political standpoint. CWS works in urban and rural setting to support sustainable development and help to address the root causes of poverty as well as to provide humanitarian assistance to survivors of natural and human-made disasters.
